Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I have my phone tied to me at all times too. I know he won't call soon, but I want to get in the habit.

Comment by navymomfromCT (Ship 11, Div.037) on November 19, 2011 at 4:24pm: My son left on November 8 and I haven't heard from him....I'm hoping he is in the 1/13 graduation....He is on Ship 11, Div 37......Hopefully I will hear something soon.....When they get their first call in two to three weeks is it usually on a sunday....I have been carrying my phone with me everywhere and don't want to miss his call...

If it's 1/20, he won't be able to go & I'll be real nervous to do all the driving alone. I'm a califormia girl. don't get around much except to vegas & AZ. I live in the high desert so cold & wind are the norm & one or twice a tear we get snow for a day or 2 & practically the whole town shuts down. lol! Here's to hoping for a letter today!!

It's only 7 degrees here this morning and we had another couple inches of snow!
