Shit, gmansmom, I'm out of town Thanksgiving. It would have been awesome to have your Sailor.
Tomorrow is my Sailors 1 year. I cant believe it has already been a year. I miss him terribly but I know he is doing good work, and I'm so proud I could burst. He is so far away I told him not to come home for his Christmas leave its not really worth the money he would spend on the ticket. If he were closer I would have paid for the ticket lol!
Barby - So glad he finally gets to come home for that visit for Christmas, and wow another thinking of joining, I wish my daughter would I think it would do her good and she definately needs to the discipline lol!
gmansmom - so glad your sailor will be close by.
Glad everyone seems to be doing good.
Happy Hump Day!
hey everyone.... TODAY is my Sailors ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY.... wow... soooooooooooooooo hard to believe it
Jacqueline... yup ROLLING WITH THE WAVES... my sailor had his share of "ON HOLD" he was getting discouraged ... but now that he's been with his command for a few weeks.... he said ITS ALL SOOOO WORTH THE WAIT.... Tell your sailor to HANG ON.... it does get better!!! Hugs to all
Oh my, Barby! Well, if anyone can handle it with grace and humor it's you! As for my "event" I know my sailor is sick to death of being on hold and more than ready to say goodbye to Great Lakes. I'm happy for him. It's just that when young adults first go out into the world when they get some free time they go home to see the folks. At some point they go visit the folks and after the visit is over they go home. It's natural. We all did it. It's part of growing up. I just feel like this may have been one of my last chances to have him home. Doing the empty nest thing I guess. Okay, I'm through whining now. I am a Navy mom and I roll with the waves!
UGH Jacqueline.... I understand your frustration/disappointment... maybe the POPE needs to chat with school command..
My sailor IS COMING HOME for christmas... his chief at his new command saw that he never got the opportunity to get leave so he pushed his chit thru and gets the first part of shutdown to come home...... AND MY OTHER SON IS TALKING TO THE NAVY RECRUITERS... looks like Im going to go thru this ALL OVER AGAIN!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE
And the Pope is kind of religious? lol.
My son 's first orders said he was to report for C school in early January and be on leave over Christmas. He just found out that his orders changed and he has to be there in a few weeks. I am a little disappointed. And the Pope is kind of religious.
