For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My sailor is sick right now with a bad cold and upset all the bases in Japan have curfew because of something that happened in Okinawa ( Not good). He told me what it was but not sure if I can share on here. Hopefully he gets better soon and the curfew is lifted soon, he works nights so his only time to get off base is the weekend. Hope everyone has a great weekend........

Comment by jacqueline-rn on September 28, 2012 at 6:11pm: Dam Neck, VA is where he'll be in C school. That lasts 130 days. After that he's on the USS Mason. The best part is that he'll be home over Christmas and New year's then on to Virginia in early January. We'll have to make the most of his leave because who knows how long he'll be on float? A year? 18 months? Who knows? But I am a Navy mom and I just roll with the waves!!!

BZ on to the next phase ... my son is SUPPOSED to be home TODAY but NOOOOOOOOOO waiting another week so he can check out of command.. thats my motto 'WHATS ANOTHER WEEK?" i've said that since DAY ONE hahahah Congrats to you and your SAILOR
