Happy Friday!
"I will make them and the places all around
My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers
to come down in their season; there shall be
showers of blessing."
Ezekiel 34:26
Alicia,
Yes, you can sign up for Sarge's shuttle the night of the Meet & Greet. He sets it up toward the end of the event.
Also, if your SR is flying out to A school, his liberty will begin at 10:30 am and he can ride back to the hotel with you. If he has A school at Great Lakes, you get a few minutes after PIR with him, then he moves his stuff over from the Boot Camp side to the A school side. You will be able be with him about 3:00 pm or so. So you can go to your hotel to relax and come back in your rental car to get him. He will tell you where to meet him and I heard it's cool to see the divisions come marching up to the gate!
I totally agree with CatMom. Renting a car is the most economical way to go...and there are some deals out there!
Good Morning!
royalbrit,
Renting a car is always going to be your most economical option, especially when you might need it for getting something to eat, maybe visit the nearby Gurnee Mall, and meet your new Sailor at the airport, which is probably not going to be the one you are flying out of! I flew into O'Hare, my Sailor daughter flew out of Midway. My friend flew into Midway and her Sailor daughter flew out of O'Hare! Go figure!!
My car rental cost from Thursday to Saturday came to $124. Roundtrip from O'Hare via Sarge was $99 and from Midway is $157, then factor in going to one of the airports to meet your Sailor.
Oh, I left my rental car at the hotel on PIR day. Only $3,00 per person each way. Sarge brought us right to the gate to access RTC and we only had to walk 50 yards to get into the graduation hall~~ I didn't want to deal with shortcuts or ending up in a long line...
thank you for the offer robin 918 we are trying to figure out what we are going to do rent a car or pay for cab.
Apples&oranges: Since it is issued officially, it should be acceptable, especially with all of your info/pik on it.
