I know the last 2 phone calls were to his girlfriend. I got the first 2. Haven't spoken to him in 3 weeks. The last letter he wrote was on Dec. 19th.

Hi Ruben mom - My son is graduating also 1/16 ship 14 dvi 061.  I only received 1 phone call (well that is because his GF got the other one) and only a couple of letters. Is your son staying in Great Lakes for A school or shipping out.

I originally booked the Navy Lodge, however, do to this wonderful site with great information, I was informed since he would  "deviation chit" (special permission form) to visit the Navy Lodge. I did not want to take the chance in case he did not get one. My son is staying in GL for A School so they will have liberty Fri, Sat, and Sun.

I switched to the Courtyard Marriot, and if you call they will give you a special rate for PIR - it is 10 min away.

My son asked that I ship him his contact lenses and solution for graduation. I have been reading about people sending packages and they either don't arrive or sit at the post office to be picked up...and obviously I want to avoid that. Should I send a package or large padded envelope? Should I send First Class, Priority, or regular snail mail?

Just a reminder that division shirts cannot be ordered prior to PIR by family members....only by the SRs who may order them as gifts for family members!
