For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Wow! I've never breathed a bigger sigh of relief! Congratulations everyone who got the call. My new sailor got to talk with me for almost a half an hour. I didn't think it was possible, but I'm even more excited to see him now than I was before! He gave me a list of things to bring and pass off at the airport on Saturday. Underwear wasn't on the list but when I mentioned people here were bringing some, he said, "oh... Yeah... Please do!" And wanted me to thank you all for the idea!
I haven't posted much here, but I do want to thank everyone here. Reading other questions and suggestions has helped me reach this point and I'm glad you all take the time to help.
Now I'm off to find a board for those with sailors going to the same A School. See you all on Friday!!
