I'm really not crazy about the Mobile View, it doesn't "give" me enough LOL. I learned the site on a Computer and I like all the features. It took a while to learn it all but I still enjoy it more that way. So that's why I use Desktop mode.
I have a suggestion if you really want to use the Mobile view and are mainly focused on your PIR group. Load it so that you are viewing your group.
To do this:
Click the List feature and from the dropdown choose "Groups".
On the left click the search icon. You'll get a drop down list and choose "My Groups"
You can stay there to be able to access all your personal Groups or now go ahead and just have your PIR group up.
Again, not my fave as you won't be able to access PAGES or DISCUSSIONS on the PIR GROUP ( at least I am not seeing it...I have not played with it extensively).
OR you can just skip the whole thing and go to Desktop mode:-D.
TO do that from the original List drop down just choose "Desktop".
Oh and that is from my HTC Droid...I have no idea how the iPhones work...I keep forgetting to steal my sons and see what the capabilities are. I did make a Forum Discussion about this hoping that some other"geek" would add input.LOL
I view the site in "Desktop" mode from my phone so that it looks exactly like it does on my PC. I am signed in all the time (doesn't mean I am on the site 24/7) but all I do is leave the window open on my phone and when I hit the internet connection it takes me right there (I can have six windows open at a time)
If you have your phone set to "Activity" in the Mobile view than you are going to get ALL the latest activity going on in the site...AND that's only if the members have that feature turned on. The Latest Activity is limited to that.
So it's not just the veteran moms who's posts don't show up in LA, it's any member that has that feature turned off. Many don't know about it.
diannep - The Activitiy feed that Anasazi mentioned is the "Latest Activity" column on the bottom left hand side of the Page.
I have mine set like CatMom's. It's off for the same reason as CatMom's. I am going to bet that yours and lemons are set this way too. The "Latest Activity" setting under Privacy when you go to your personal settings.
Yes, RV, we have heard that from others. I don't know why N4Moms is so unfriendly to so many of the SMART phones. That has been going on for a long time, so I thought they may have fixed it by now! Oh well.....
anasazigypsy: Not sure why the comments we N4Moms make on here don't show up for you when using your phone? We post just like the rest on here. That doesn't make sense to me?
I connect to this site only from a PC so have no experience using a phone to connect to N4Moms. Not sure what the "Activity Feed" is?
Good Afternoon All!
My son is on Sip 14 Div 062 is this the correct group... unsure all this is new to me
I haven't been able to get this site working on my phone (a not-so-smart phone), but my facebook app works pretty well, so that's what I depend on. I check the activity here from my PC.
When calls come in, the moms that are on here usually post for others to look out for a call too, but if spending all the time on Facebook, we don't any notifications of that at all~~
I've turned off my Latest Activitiy because I don't want everyone to see all the groups I'm a part of unless they are my Friend or a member of that group~~
Personally, I don't do much posting, but I like reading both because there's some great information in both places. Facebook just seems easier to use, for me, anyway. My favorite thing has been getting a "heads up" when a phone call might be coming. When I see lots of posts on facebook of Moms getting calls, I know to keep my phone very handy!
RV: I'm glad it is active there, but I wish you all would post on this group too! You and the others get the benefit of both groups then....many on here are not on FB. And, some think there is more privacy on FB, but there really isn't....last names are exposed there and believe it or not, even with the wonderful administrators trying to be careful who they let in, they do NOT have a list of SRs at GL. There is only so much the can do....so I say, be careful what you post there just as we tell people on here to be careful what they post. Yep, RDCs (or their friends) have gotten both on this group and also in the FB groups in the past....it happens! So the less personal info in both groups exposed about your SR, the better! :-)
