terrif,
Just address the manila envelope to your SR daughter. Then she will open it up in front of the RDCs. She can then distribute the Christmas cards to her shipmates. Please let her know that you plan to do this, so she can be expecting that envelope~~
I have been thinking about sending Christmas cards to each of the recruits in my daughter's division so that no one goes without during the holidays. Since it will have to be an large manila envelope, how will I go about addressing the envelope so that it gets to the division but doesn't get my daughter in trouble? TIA
Greetings!
"You have searched me, Lord, and You know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
You perceive my thoughts from afar."

It is a good idea to check your "My Page" for any comments (located near the bottom) when you sign on to N4M's.
Also, check your Status Box (located in the top left Column of any page you are on on N4M's, just under your Username) to see if you have any Messages in your "Inbox" or "Friend" Requests.
When you have a message in your Inbox it will look like this:
Inbox (1 new) (or however many you have)
If you have a new Friend Request it will look like this:
Friends (1 Request) rather than Friends-invite.
To send a Friend Request:
-Left Click on the Picture of the Member that you would like to Friend. This will redirect you to their "My Page".
-IF they have a "My Page" that is Viewable to Anyone or Members you should be able to see all of their content.
-Look in the Middle Column. You will see a Large Profile picture, directly underneath is their gender and where they live. Directly under that is this:
"Add as a Friend" - Click that.
-A new Box will open and it will ask if you would like to send a Message along with the Request. Bear in mind that if you do so when the Member accepts the request, the message will go off into cyberspace (something that I wish they would change on here.). So you don't have to send a message. If you do remember to clear the box with the autofill they put in there.
-Click "Send" and off it goes. You should get a confirmation message that you sent it.
NOW,
IF there "My Page" is set to "Private, all you are going to see is their Profile Pic, a little info about them and this in the Middle under the info that it is a Private page:
"Add as Friend"
-Click that and follow the same directions as above.
Once you Friend someone you may now communicate with them Privately through the N4M's Messaging feature.
You may do one-on-one messages for privacy or Group messages.
No, creolegoddess....this PIR group will not have Liberty on Christmas Day. They allow Christmas Day Liberty to the 2 next graduating groups after Christmas Day with family members or adopted out in the community, but those groups will be the 12/31 and 01/09 PIR groups. However, it will be a relaxing day for your SRs and they will be served a Christmas dinner on base.
Any more news on your SR's medical condition?
Alicia: Not sure if this was answered, but yes, you can trade off cell phones, even laptops and some personal items at the airport to your sailor....they just need to fit this in their existing luggage since they will have the large seabag, garment bag (uniforms), and their Navy issued backpack to keep up with...not advisable to have extra luggage. Any surplus can be mailed to them once they phase up at A School and can wear their "civies."
