N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

WOOHOOOOO!!!!  Just got a call from my SR!  We got to talk for 10 minutes.  Told him we had not received the PIR letter.  He said he mailed it yesterday.  He's going to be on Ship 9, Div 065.  They are still in P-days because they had to wait for enough SRs to arrive to form the Div but all of them are very anxious to start training. What a WONDERFUL, Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Your SRs will be having a Thanksgiving meal on base today.  Hope that some of you possibly get some phone calls!  My son was up there for Thanksgiving 2009, had just arrived about 4 days earlier, and was able to call.  Calls are very random but you never know!  Fingers crossed!

hmmm, Well if they both are division 805 they will both have the same PIR date. So, with all the others reporting on their form letters this would be the PIR date I assume.

Comment by skeeter on November 28, 2013 at 12:07am

I guess I should say, 805

Comment by skeeter on November 28, 2013 at 12:05am

ellen0502- both of them are in the same division: 800

skeeter, I am curious as the division number for you sons friend though. If he is also in division 805 he would not be in the 1/10 TG, he would also be in this one.

I received my box last Friday and the letter Saturday. My SR is in the 800 division w/ a PIR date of 1/17. On my way to get the letter, I think I may have scared the mailman, I nearly tore the mail out of his hand.
Comment by TG3 on November 27, 2013 at 6:34pm

I got the box yesterday and the letter today....anyone else in the 800 division get  theirs yet?  his pir is 1/17 on the letter!  I was so excited to get it and I opened it and it said I miss you at the top of the letter....I lost it!  Jan 17 cannot come soon enough!!!
