~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Final thought here:  Everyone who has not received the I'm a Sailor calls have your phones glued to you for the next couple of days!  :-)

Comment by diannep on January 15, 2014 at 12:32am

Chelle and ajb:  Your SRs are in the same division, but said they will be calling on different days after BattleStations?  How could that be?  Sorry, thinking outloud here as I scroll back through the posts.

Comment by diannep on January 15, 2014 at 12:29am

ajb:  063/064 won't call until Thurs?  Ok, that really messes things up.  Because 065/066 won't go before they do, so they must go with them.  Can't wait for "someone" from up there to call and tell everyone what happened.  Maybe something happened to keep BattleStations from happening last night?  Maintenance?  A breakdown?  If so, that would make sense that they are backed up a day.  That would mean that they are running them Tues, Wed nights....so many of you may not get the call until you are in route to PIR.  If flying that day and expecting the call, you may want to change your voicemail to greet your new sailor if your phone is off, asking that he/she call back and leave many messages!

Comment by diannep on January 15, 2014 at 12:25am

Ok, very confused here.  No I'm a Sailor calls came in today for anyone?  Not understanding that.  They don't skip nights in BattleStations, and since the 800 divisions went on Sunday night, someone went last night.  061/062 were next to go, and someone had told me 910 also.  Weird that none called, and strange that 063 SRs called this close to their BattleStations.  Sounds like there will be a whole bunch of calls being made tomorrow from all of the divisions.  I still think that 061/062/910 went last night....thinking the other 4 will go tonight, unless they are going to back them up going through Wed night (2 divisions each night).

Sorry, ladies.  It is hard when the calls don't come in the day they finish.  Keep the phones close tomorrow...
