Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Welcome, Streetcar.  Yes, I believe he will stay with his division group after bootcamp.   sjtina is our N4Moms veteran contact for the Spec Ops group so hoping that she may see this question and better answer it.

Hi Guys, I am a newbie, and I have a question. My son is in 806, he has called once and sounds great, says he will be able to call at Christmas. He did say they pulled all of his wisdom teeth out, not really sure why but he handled it well. My son is only 18 and I am wondering if he will head to pre-buds and buds with the same group of men he is with now?

Stormy:  SO very very sorry. Blessings to your son and hope that he has the chance to re enlist in 6 mos should he want to.  Please keep everyone on here posted as to his status.

Thanks all for your kind words and the link to Ship 5.

JAmom, Don't be to concerned about the number of guests changing. We can see the division numbers and PIR dates from the posts. In order for this group to only have three guests allowed instead of four, the number of divisions would have to increase by four. I don't see that happening.

There were a couple of TG in November that did end up with three guests, but we gave them the heads up it was going to happen by counting the posts with divisions numbers and PIR dates.

Stormy, I am so sorry to hear about your SR. Here is the link to Ship 5 Moms. It may just look not to be too active now with the lull in recruits for a couple of weeks, but I am sure if you post there someone will chime in quickly.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Stormy.  I hope he heals well and soon and is able to use this as a positive in his life. Prayers and please keep us posted. Anita

My understanding of what he said, which may not be quite right, is that they gave him the option of getting reclassified right now and or to just take the separation.  I "think" he will be able to try again once he has some physical therapy and gets himself back in shape.
