OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

DanaD, my husband is in 062 and I got to speak with him on Saturday for 11 minutes. It was his "I'm still alive" call and he said I probably won't get to talk to him again until his "I'm a sailor" call

My daughter is in Div 062 and we have not received any phone calls. Has anyone this Div received a call? Just curious, with some having already received two phone calls, I guess I'm a little jealous (haha). I just keep telling myself that no news is good news, right? Hope everyone has a good day!

We will be heading to VA to see our Sailors and grand baby on Thursday. Our Navy Mom facebook group has a huge Christmas project with the help of all our family and friends :) We have been collecting gifts for 300+ kids who have a parent deployed on the Harry S Truman aircraft carrier. Friday we will be shopping for more gifts with money & gift cards people have donated then on Saturday we will be having a wrapping party to wrap the gifts and then delivering the toys/gifts to the kids at their Christmas party on Sunday. It has been so much fun collecting gifts and participating in this project. It's just a bonus that we get to see our Sailors and baby Eastyn and stay with them while we are there. I can't wait to see the faces on these kids when they receive the gifts. i know it is so hard on them to have a parent deployed at Christmas. Many of them are just too young to understand. I know of my friends on this site are also friends and part of my facebook group and we truly appreciate everyone who has helped with this project :) Thanks very much!!!!

Good Morning!

Remind your SRs that once finished with Bootcamp and in possession of phones/laptops again, the contact is restored and it is much better!  So nice to get texts from your sailors when in A school, and of course calls are the best!  Skyping/FaceTiming is even better!  So this separation is just temporary...although preparation for deployment when communication with family can be sketchy!

My son is in Div 066 on ship JFK. I got to talk to him on Thanksgiving and yesterday for about 25 minutes. He sounded great so grown up.

I agree with  PoodleLady. Thank you all so much for posting about your calls. It has helped me a lot as we haven't received one yet. I am so proud of our SR and grateful for any bit of news. Blessings to you!

Thank each and every Lady on this site. All of the information is invaluable. The fact that there are others going through exactly your experience is comforting. I know my SR thinks I am the most clingy mom ever, though the truth is we all just love our children with all our being and aren't used to not being able to at least text. He now understands. He said the worst part for him was not talking to the family on a regular basis. So, thank you again ladies for the support that is the best you can get on the internet. Much love. God bless. Goodnight.

My son is in DIV 910 and we got a call today! He seems to be doing well. He said he was on IV's the first week because he was sick and dehydrated. And he has to wear glasses now. He sounded so mature just within almost  three weeks. But it was so good to hear his voice and that he was having a good time overall. The people at Menard's were probably wondering what was going as we were standing there with the speaker phone on and me crying lol.

I got a call from my SR! she sounded tired but said it is hard work but likes it- it keeps her busy.

I am so happy! I can relax now!

I guess Div 910 got their call today ladies!! yoo-hoo!

I hope you all get your calls!! :)
