~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

anyone else with a recruit on ship 11 Div 068?
I finally got my letter. I waited 15 days. Longer than some but less than some others. It was post marked December 5th. Not sure why it would take five days to travel 250 miles. Happy I got it though. My son's ship, division and PIR date are confirmed. Ship 13. Div 069, PIR 01/24. Letters are in the box with the flag up!
Thank you Lloyd for the information :)
Hi Friends!
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
and your plans will succeed."
Proverbs 16:3
The amount of time will depend on what your SR has going on after boot camp. Is he or she has A-School in Great Lakes, then after a short visit in the drill hall after PIR, they will report directly to School. After checking in (this may take a few hours), they will get liberty. You will probably have to have them back around 21:30. You should get to pick them up on Saturday and Sunday at 05:30 and have them back by 21:30 each night. If your SR is going to be at Great Lakes for a few days awaiting travel to A-School elsewhere, then they will get liberty immediately following PIR. Some will be leaving for A-School at other locations the very next day. Nothing is set in stone.
Good Morning!! Wondering how much time we get to be with our SR on graduation day? And if he can spend time with us during the weekend after graduation?
Good morning all! I'm new to the group as well. Just wanted to say hello and that I look forward to meeing y'all at PIR hopefully!!!
Made my hotel reservations last night, starting to get excited. Now, if they will just lay off the "I'll be Home for Christmas" song on the radio I'll be fine!
Thanks ellen0502! Heading out today to get one to send!
NavyMomDenise, Your recruit should have a calling card with some minutes on it, and they may have the opportunity to buy another. If s/he didn't leave with a calling card I would recommend sending one, there are no collect calls.
Be sure to purchase one that has plenty of minutes on it, will work with a pay phone, and activate it before you send it. You can also purchase one that is refillable.
Do we need to get Calling Cards to our SR? Can they make a collect call instead? Do they even have collect calls anymore? LOL!
