~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Morning!

There is a BattleStations discussion above with info for you---I will post the link below.  You will read that they can do 2 divisions (brother divisions), 3 divisions (set of brother divisions plus 900 or 800 division), or 4 divisions (2 sets of brother divisions) a night.  Just depends on what the powers that be up there want to do.  I have the weekly BattleStations schedules for the past almost 4 yrs...and they are all different!

Read this discussion for general info.  The call after they finish this test is the BEST!  They are then sailors!  So....celebrate!

Welcome Melissa!!

CathyM is right on with the information she gave you on Battlestations. You can also check out "BATTLESTATIONS: THEIR FINAL TEST" up in the Discussion Forum.  There is a powerpoint presentation and a video of what they go through to become United States Navy Sailors!!

Hi Melissa,

It's not a silly question - I didn't know either, so I googled it. I even watched a video about it on YouTube. Battle Stations is the final test, which is the culmination of everything the SR's have learned in basic training. They are put through a whole series of situations where they have to use what they've learned and teamwork in order to pass. The video I watched showed the USS Thayer, located at Great Lakes, and it showed the recruits facing simulated situations where they needed to demonstrate their training. It looks very daunting to me, but also looks like a really good exercise for the recruits to test what they know.

djk'smom:  There is a PFA (Fitness) test #3.  Is that the one you are talking about?  They take the PFA 3 times, but in order to do BattleStations, they must pass that 3rd test.

Erin:  The 900 divisions can go most any day, but the normal day for them to go is Monday of PIR week.  However, they have also gone on Sunday nights and Tues nights.  They can actually run BattleStations for a PIR group through Wed night of PIR week (as is the case this week for Fri''s PIR group).  Not fun for those with new sailors not happening until Thurs morning, the day before PIR, to be traveling up to PIR, not knowing for sure if they have sailors.  But it works out.

For some reason, they have not been starting BattleStations the week before PIR week, as they have always done before.  They are trying to run them (at least, for the past few PIR groups) all during PIR week.  Not sure why.

No worries....they get BattleStations all done.  Never have heard of a division not graduating because they didn't get to finish BattleStations.

No, if they haven't phased up yet, they still can't leave A School base, even on federal holidays.  However, it may be possible for some to have visitors on base....he would have to tell you that once he goes through INDOC on that base and gets info.
