~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

As I was browsing the sight for PIR hints and tips I saw someone post that the SR had to list people who could come to the airport with them.  I thought all we needed were proper ID's to get through security.  I don't really want to ruin the surprise that we are bringing his cousin, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.  Thoughts?  Also, just to be safe, our 11 and 13 would bring birth certificates and possibly school id cards.  That is enough, right?!!?

I'm sending the questionnaire also!  It's a hoot, but does contain a very well written message about teamwork.  Wonder if they'll share with each other when they get the questionnaire.

Love the questionnaire, sending to my SR today. Let's hope he completes it :)

I love the questionnaire - made me laugh.  I'll be sending to my SR right away, even though I just left the post office mailing the last one.  He's getting lots of mail this week.

Good morning everyone. Now that you are getting closer to PIR I thought I would share a questionnaire with you. You will have to copy and paste this to word and tweak it a little so that it works for you. This is one of the questionnaires I made and sent to my sailor/daughter. It is a great one to send now that your recruits are halfway through. Plus you can get answers to questions you need answers to. And they take less time than writing a letter so the recruits love them. Change it around and make it yours and have fun with it. There are some very encouraging parts near the end. Enjoy!!! I added it to the discussions above because it has too many characters to fit here as a post :)
