Lala, that is funny, lol.

Hi ProudMom, sounds like he is doing pretty well so far.

When they first get to boot camp they are in the processing days for about a week or maybe even longer. The weeks of training don't begin until they finish processing days and get to their "ship". When the training finally begins that will be week 1 day 1 and they usually have PIR on week 6. :-)

My son had his aunt as a teacher in middle school and he had a very hard time not call her Aunt Lori, lol after trying and trying to get him to call her Mrs Branchfield without success she finally gave him a lunch detention and that did the trick lol. he did not like silent lunch at all :-)

Ahhh, that is very cute and a cool story.

I used to work as a pre-school teacher and two of my children and a couple of nieces and nephews were in my class.  I had to tell them that in the classroom, in order not to confuse the other children, they would have to call me Ms. Betsy. (School principal's suggestion).   Boy, was that hard for them to remember in the classroom, lol

yes, my son's first name is David.  Because I began working for his school district when he was in 6th. grade, several of his classmates started calling me as "Mrs. David's Mom".  So, I decided to use it as a screen name here.

Lala, congratulations to your daughter.  That's great!  Well DoneWow, that's great that she is coming home after Christmas.  I would take advantage of the after Christmas sales and go shopping with her, when she gets home.

My son is coming home with the first round of leave, so he will have his leave starting Dec. 16 and reporting back Dec. 28.  LOL

Mrs.David'sMom, Welcome to the group.  We, veterans, are here as proof that your SR will do just fine, so keep on smiling. Grin Is that your SR's first name.  If it is not, could you please change your name on here?  We aren't allowed to use last names on here and it's best to keep it private, so we won't compromise our SR's security.

Wow, that's great , Lala, that they may have 2 weeks leave....so you can celebrate a 2nd Christmas when they get there!    Congrats on her award...that is wonderful.

Mrs.David'sMom:  You won't be the only one crying at the ceremony, trust me!  Happy tears!  Good that you take comfort in knowing that he is well taken care of.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thanks FTLW, I hope you are finally feeling better. My daughter squadron had their Christmas party on her birthday. She received an award for being 3P of the month. I am not exactly sure what that means. All I know is she is no longer a trainee and she accomplished that rather quickly. She also won a dore price for a $50 gift card to the commissary which is great but said she really wanted to win the 6 month duty free prize or the 3 months of parking in the XO's parking spot lol. They don't get to come home for Christmas but I guess that's okay. They get the second half of the holiday and will be here on the 28th and are talking 2 weeks leave :-)

I recieved the form letter yesterday.  We are so anxious to get up there for graduation and see our son.  I am enjoying the videos here on this web site.  Seeing the facilities and what the recruits are doing does give me peace of mind.  I'm not worring and wondering what he's up to, and what he's going through.  I look forward to seeing all you other 'Navy Mom's' at graduation. You should be able to recognize me, I'll be the one crying through the ceremony!
