Does anyone know if the peanut butter shot is the penicilin shot? I am trying to calculate if 1/27 is finishing processing days or ending week one of boot camp.
I received my SR's form letter today. It was very exciting to hear from him, he wrote a very nice note on the back.
yes, 4 at this point. I have a large family. My SR was the first to enlist, then his brother (USMC), cousin/sister (Navy) and now my junior has just begun her scholarship process. Their dad an I were military, so it's always been a possibility. re the box: he sent it to my moms (to protect his clothes from his siblings, lol) and I went over there to open it-- like 90 miles an hour-- and after I loved them enough, I let my mother was them. Coward's way. LOL
I got the form letter!!! He was able to write a SWEET note :) His PIR date is Jan. 27th, 2012 :< oh well, AND hes Laundry PO :) NOW HE CAN DO MY LAUNDRY :) GO SHIP 2 DIV 910!!! (and all others :)
IM SUCH A PROUD WIFE!!! AND MISS AND LOVE HIM DEARLY!!
55 DAYS!!!
mommma2many, so are you saying that you have 4 kids going into the military, or did I read that wrong? If so, way to go, Mom! (well, even if not, way to go, Mom, lol)
BDee and diannep, it wasn't my other son who said those things, it was actually my sailor who said them . LOL
Every one of my kids has my sr as their profile pic on fb, so for a week I was emotional everytime i went online. And sometimes for a second I would think 'oh, what'd "SR" post?" then remember he was gone. lol UGH. I'm coping, What upset me at first was thinking about how I felt in bootcamp and that my kid felt that way now... but I had to bury those thoughts. 2 more kids leaving in the summer and one applying for an NROTC scholarship. I HAVE to cope. LOL
A Mom on here gave me a link to a wonderful site. I started a group for my daughter Ashley. If you all could take a moment to lit a candle for her I would greatly appreciate it. Just click on link...click on search (tab 3), under group type AMG, click on a unlist candle & follow directions. All are greatly apprecited.
Betsy,
Yeah I was debating wether to wash them or not. Decided to go ahead and wash them because I'm sleeping with her blanket so its almost like she's with me @ night. Yes I know how it is with other kids...my other daughter looks @ me sometimes like I'm a little crazy whenever I go by SRs photo I kiss my hand @ place it on the picture. I just tell her its going to be like this around here when you leave as well.
BDee: These ladies on here will be a godsend to you and each other. It helps so much to vent on here with one another, and to share news and letters. You may find that some on here have SRs who are friends with your daughter! So...you are in the right place!
Betsy: Sigh...on what your other son said...amazing how kids can just get to the nitty gritty as we emotionally always dance around it! But of course, this is a "mom thing!"
BDee, they are very wise words from diannep. I was home alone when I received "the box" and I just stood at my kitchen island looking at it and crying. I finally opened it and cried even more. I actually didn't wash his clothes because I just kept smelling my boy in them and didn't want to let go of his smell. I put the box in his room and when my son came home after BC, he said to me, "mom, that box smells gross, why didn't you wash the clothes?" LOL So, basically he thought I was a little crazy, but he really has no idea how difficult it is to be a Navy mom.
