Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. Some are real good at this...time and place...you know?! Some aren't and shouldn't bother cuz they'll get caught! How do I know...I'm married to one of the "good"ones! I think it's heredity too...I walked into the kitchen the other day and for just two seconds thought there was a REAL centipede on the floor!
My hubby, when he was a kid, used to crack walnuts open perfectly, take the nut out and glue a penny with a note back in and seal it up!

Although I think they keep a pretty good eye on them. He may be feeling much better now since he wrote the letter...positive thinking!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on December 29, 2011 at 5:18pm: I think they do reimburse you, they reimbursed my daughter and her husband when he moved to VA beach but I think there was a predetermined amount that they will reimburse you for. Anything more than that you would not get reimbursed for. And with my daughter and son-in-law the rules could be a little different since they are both Sailors. Everything changes so often that I am afraid to say what they will or won't do but based on what I have seen in the past you should get reimbursed for at least part if not all of it. Just as soon as he gets to A-school have him get started on the paperwork and they will be able to tell him everything you guys will need to know and how to go about moving up there.
