Here is another Mr. Bean...this one really made me laugh because there is a Border Collie about three and a half minutes into it.
Good Afternoon!
he is in my prayers Anita.
anitamt73 - Did your SR get sick in BC? You dan't have to post details publicly if you don't want too. Prayers for your SR.
Great Announcement, I call a phone call from my SR, ship 3/div 047. He said they finished day 5 week 2 today. Tomorrow will be day 1, week 3. He sounded tired but was happy of his choice to be in the Navy. He said he had 10 minutes to make calls.
P-days are processing days and they SUCK. There is a lot of waiting in line, lots of yelling and not a lot of sleep especially the first 2 to 3 days. My daughter said she was up 36 hours straight when she first got there. I think they make them all stay up for more than 24 hours so they can get them all acclimated to being in the same (new) time zone. My Sailor has been out of boot for almost a year and a half and she will still tell you P-days are Hell. Other than that they don't mind boot camp so much by the time they finish :-)
Navywife11 that is great news! We checked the mail and still no letters from our son....getting worried about that. Hoping to hear something soon. What is P hold? Is that why week 1 did not start until week of 12/5? Glad to hear he is in good spirits and hopefully that will resonate through the entire division.
There are always lots of Sailors who only have one or two people who are coming to PIR and sadly some of them have no one who can come. The PIR Hall is large enough to 4 guest per Sailor for 15 divisions or maybe more. That is why there is almost always seats for the extra guest who show up. We had 13 divisions and everyone got in. We took 4 extra guests as well and we were in line early and they didn't have to wait. With only 7 divisions graduating with this PIR group I can't even imagine there being a problem. I would take as many extras as you can :-) If any of them will be driving onto the base they will need a parking pass so you can print extras. And, like Diannep said it is adviced that they go with someone who is on the list.
They get their wisdom teeth pulled during boot camp if they look like they may present any problems in the future. They don't want them to be on a ship or deployed somewhere and then need a dentist. Much better to deal with it now. Plus it is one of the only times during boot camp that they get to listen to music :-)
