Good morning everyone, I hope everyone has a good day, I will be away most of the day because I am subbing in 4th grade. I have been in this class a couple times so at least I am learning their names. I think that is the hardest part about subbing. So hard to call on someone for being bad or good when you don't know their name :( I will also be in this class tomorrow so wish me luck lol.
Autumn- that is so sad about your lab. i do not understand how anyone could let an animal suffer. That was so sweet of your husband to dance with you. I hope that is a memory you can always cherish. My hubby needs lessons on that lol. He is a fantastic husband but he does NOT dance :-( One day I will get him to, I hope :-)
Hello all. Well, still no call from our son. Still waiting, patiently. I was disappointed today as I tried to forward our house calls to my cellphone but was unable. Oh well.
Diannep, Shade is my second black lab. Our first had to be put to sleep when he was about 6 due to seizures. Shade was a rescue. When she was a pup she chewed on an electrical cord and it melted her bottom, left side lip over her teeth and melted a hole in the roof of her mouth through to her sinus'. The owners apparently left her for dead. Anyways, a year later we rescued her. She has been wonderful. The pain meds seem to be doing great, not to mention all the prayers!
Last night turned out pretty crappy. I had been talking all week about putting the tree up but when it came time, no one was in the mood to do it. It ended up being a disappointing instead of wonderful evening. Unfortunately, our SR was the one to help pull those types of things together. Hubby did salvage the evening with dancing with me under the Christmas tree.
Well, hope everyone has a great week! May God bestow many letters and phone calls upon us from our SR's!!!!!!!!!!
This will be posted in the early weeks for any new members and as a gentle reminder.
Community Guidelines and OPSEC
Hello Everyone.
Safety for your SR (future Sailor) and you!
Sailors LAST names are NOT allowed anywhere on this site. If your last name is different from your sailors it is still not recommended.
FIRST names ARE allowed but I, and some of the other “veteran” moms, will most often advise you not to use them. This is a public forum and anyone can read the posts-they do not have to be a member (if the group is set to private, the public cannot read but all N4M members can-so all you have to do is join) While they use their last names in BC (in fact they don't usually, if ever, find out each other’s first names until the end of BC), the RDC's know who they are and can then, with the right amount of info, link them up to you. So, let’s say you use your last name in your N4M name, post a picture of your SR...easy to match up...and so on.
Why does that matter? Your SR's are trying to get through BC with as little undue attention as possible. "Fly under the radar", so to speak. There have been reports from moms of their recruits being matched up with them. Some are just identified…some get IT (Intensive Training), I am guessing this depends on WHAT is posted…I know of one mom who said that her son had to do 5 push-ups just for every time she posted!
The MOST important reason for being discreet is OPSEC-Operational Security. This is a way of life for us now. It will be for your Sailors career and for some of them, even more so, depending on their individual security clearance. Some moms have mentioned that even today after years they do not know EXACTLY what their sailor does.
SPECOPS...definitely need to be VERY careful.

We have divisional discussions for 47,48,49,51,52 and 910. We need a 50! Don't be shy ladies!
Good Morning!
Yes, Lala. Thank you so much! They look just awesome! I can't wait to get them. I'm excited!
Good morning Betsy, did you see the pics of your bags? :-) look back a page or two and see them :-D
Hi Ladies, What a game today, Huh? I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
I have been MIA for a couple of days, we had a death in my sister in law's family (whom I'm very close too) and then my youngest daughter flew back from college last night. Woohoo! But she arrived with a broken laptop and guess who has a final's paper due on Tuesday and hadn't started it yet? lol So, mom's laptop has been confiscated for a couple of days. After this coming Tuesday, I should be on here regularly again, but I have to defer the use of my computer to my baby girl for now. Luckily, my husband and I had already ordered her a new one for Christmas, but it hasn't arrived yet.
She is still sleeping now, so I'm seizing the opportunity to hop on here. :)
Good morning, all! I agree with Lala. Be sure to call the hotels DIRECT. You always get better info that way.
