Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Jones on December 9, 2011 at 4:20pm: My son arrived in Great Lakes on 11/29 and he wrote the letter on Saturday 12/3 which was much faster than I was expecting. It took a long time to get to me so I'm not sure when he actually mailed it (the postmark is too blurry to read). It was a short letter but anything is better than nothing. I know how desperate you must be to hear from him but hang in there. It will be soon I'm sure.

AutumnSunset, I am so sorry about your dog. They really are a part of the family and I know how difficult this is, I've been there. Stay strong....you will hear from your SR soon!

@ jones, if you dont mind me asking, when did your recruit get to BC and when is the letter dated? im trying to calculate in my head(lol) when i should expect something, :( its driving me nuts

AutumnSunset, hang in there your letter is on its way soon, keep the faith :). Sorry to hear about the family dog will keep you & family in my thoughts/prayers. Just know we're going through it as well (@ least the SRs not being home for the Holidays part) & if you ever need to vent that's what this site is for ....vent away, always someone here to give you some good advise or just to lend an ear or fingers to type.

I have a diesel vehicle and we have our own business so our equipment uses diesel. So I never go to a gas station. One of life's true blessings...lol

Comment by AutumnSunset on December 9, 2011 at 3:42pm: Well, still no contact from my son (except form letter) and just took our 12 year old, black lab to the vet and found out she seems to have a bleeding tumor. It makes for a tough Christmas season ~ no contact with son and dying dog. I know to be thankful for all I do have though. Uggghhhh.
