Oh, how I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE for discussions to be posted by ship number like some other PIR groups I've seen!  Do we have enough members now?  :)

I'm so happy to hear so many are receiving letters now. I agree with letters already sent out there is not much we can do about not having slashed the zeros but I told all my family and friends that are sending encouraging letters to please not forget to slash the zero's. I hear that Boot camp is tough and can suck, because I heard that from my SR as well but he is praying and taking it day by day and he also told me that they work together as a Team to keep one another motivated! In his words they have each other's back to make certain no one breaks and wants to quit so they can all be at PIR together II I cried when I read that I think that is Awesome ! They are going to be amazing Sailors when all is said and done. I went to sleep last night just sending a little help and praying that God see's all of them through this and they can stand together at PIR as one !

I just got a call from my SR.!! He sounds good but says it's tough and sucks! I hope he stays focused and doesn't give up! I've asked family and friends to get their pen and paper out and send him some encouraging words!!! Such a happy momma right now!

Good Morning!

Sure doesn't make sense that the SRs would pay the price for someone writing them and not slashing the zeros....some RDCs like to mess with them like that.  I wouldn't worry too much about it for letters already mailed....if they make them do extra IT (like extra push ups!), it just makes them stronger and in better shape!

Oh no. Eve thank you for the info, my son may not be speaking to me, we have alot of uncrossed zeros in our address and i have sent 8 letters. yikes.  My son isn't much of a writter but I miss him like crazy. I hope his phone card works. I just want to know he is ok and happy.

I finally got some letters today! Now I just have to wait for my son to receive the letters I've sent him.congrats to everyone who also received letters. For those who haven't I'm sure it will be any day now.

Hello Everyone I know it's late just wanted to post this before I hit the hay ! I received my first letter from my son I was overjoyed! He did mention that for his Group and Division all of their calling cards didn't work and that is why he couldn't call home for the holidays ! He also asked me to please be certain to slash all the zeros on the outside of the envelopes or they will get in trouble for it. He is trying to take it day by day and just think about the reward in the end. Becoming a US Naval Sailor ! Well the perfect Christmas wish and I just wanted to share. Good Night all, I pray you all had a blessed Christmas !

Comment by diannep on December 27, 2014 at 12:41am
