I haven't heard much from my son in the last 2 weeks, his letters last week were very short. From what I've gathered his BS will be next Tuesday, so my call should be next Weds...I've already started carrying my phone and looking at it all the time! I'm so excited to the point of nausea as well!! I too have an ex that has nothing to do with his children, thank God for my Hubby, who came into our lives when my boys where only 3 & 5 and has been there every step of the way. I think he is just as excited as I am to see our son and the sailor he has become! Can't wait til next Friday!!!

Welcome to JB's mom. I also found this site late but have found it to be a life saver. Mail day, but this time not for me, for my boyfriend Rich. Dennis says BS on Wednesday, he is real excited for it to happen but just a little nervous. Asked for Rich to pray for all members of his division to be strong through BS and the last weeks. I have already cleared it with my boss, Blackberry will be on Loud and not leave my side on Thursday even though cell phones are banned during office hours, My boss is awesome and she will probably be crying right along side me when the I'm a sailor call comes. Can't wait

shana1,
I agree with you. My boys father even when we were married was never really there for them. And they do know the difference, especially the older 3. But the youngest still tries to push his father on me. I truly believe in the saying "Anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a dad." The 2 boys are following in their stepdad footprints by going in the Navy. He takes the time with them that they need.

Toni,
The ex may be their father but he sure is far from being a dad. My youngest asked me yesterday if I was going to call and wish his father a happy birthday... I asked him if he had been smoking crack? Why would I call him...I would rather barf. LOLOLOL

Well I didn't have the money to do that. Or else I would have. Trust me. He did put something on his father and stepwitch facebook page. But they failed to tell me as they don't offer up any info to me.
And my son that is at BC now doesn't call or write them only me and hubby. And the ex asked me the other day if I had heard from my son and I told him no. Thats just alittle evil coming out in me.

Monday would be good also. Hubby told me I better get my bottle of Valium ready for when he does do BS. So I can get some sleep while he is going thru it. And then the night after. Already been thru it once last July. I was a wreck.

Toni,
Thats good you heard something. My son took almost a month to call me after he got there. Now we communicate by email. The calls can be expensive. Altho on our house phone we put a 5.00 plan that allows us to call for 9 cents a minute. BUT I cannot figure out how to call international.

Well I hope it is Friday cause I have orientation on Tuesday for a new job. I don't want to sit there and keep looking at my cell phone wishing it to ring. Cause I would too. And it would be my luck that it would ring right in the middle and sorry but I would have to answer it. Family first. RIGHT? LOLOLOL
