Yay I just got a phone call :) Im on top of the world.
It wasnt long but he sounded happy and was laughing with his RDC and petty officers so i'm guessing he likes them. He said he'll get another call soon and has sent alot of letters and was about to go write more.

I know how you feel... When it was time for my hubby to leave I put on a strong face but behind it I knew i was crying inside...I hated that he had to miss his babys first real christmas and her and my birthday and new years. It was the lonliest new years i've ever had. I remember the first two weeks he was gone I made my sister come stay with me because I wasnt used to being alone we've barely spent time apart in the last 4 years - the longest being 2 weeks up until now...but this is just the beginning of someting better- granted this is also the beginning of being apart alot more. I miss my hubby more than ever and he has also said in letter that he realizes how much he really does love me and the baby and that he absolutley hates being away. He said he doesnt sleep good at all because he's lonely and is so used to hearing the baby tell him; "night night bobby daddy"!...And I also cry everytime I get a letter and the phone calls are the worst because it's hard to keep having to say goodbye- especially when you hang and then remember something you really wanted to tell him but cant call him back. I'm so excited for graduation and I know i'm going to be a mess when I see him again for the first time. :)

Thank you for the video it was very informational.

As to being a mess, I need a little help. When Drew left to go to Meps at the beginning of BC I told myself to be strong in front of him and to hold back my tears to make it easier for him. I later find out, 3 weeks ago, that me not crying in front of him made him question how much I really cared about him, and if everything was going to work out between us. What he didn't realize was that as soon I was driving away to go to school that I was balling my eyes out.
So when it comes to liberty call at PIR should I stay strong? Or should I let him see me crumble? Or I suppose I could stay strong but let myself break down a little? I just don't know, I need some advice. Keep in mind, I am a person that normally goes to my room and stays alone any time I cry. Please help as much as you can.

Yes, I remember reading, or learning about this. I just didn't know what it was called. I can't wait to hear that Drew's mom go that call. :) I wish everyone the best of luck to get that call. It will be one of the happiest and proudest moments (i'm sure we will have many happy and proud moments of our sailors), I'm sure.

what is battlestations? is that like the last thing they have to pass in order to graduate?

Toni: good to know that they will forward the mail.

Thanks for the reassurance, it had me worried because it didn't sound logical to me. I figured it would be considered as two carry ons. If you don't mind me asking why did you take your laptop?
