Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

When my daughter was in DEP I was telling her everything I learned and telling her what to expect and going on and on and on. She finally told me to stop that I was freaking her out lol. She wanted to learn on her on when she got there and BOY did she :-)

Comment by unc80 on January 23, 2012 at 9:28pm: My SR also told me that I knew more about Boot Camp before he left than he did. This N4M has helped me keep up with what is going on with him. He has been chosen the RCPO for his Div. So proud of him. I'm counting down the days until PIR.

By the time she finished bootcamp I knew more about what she would do during and after A-school than she did lol.

Sorry I was MIA today, I was making ribbons and scarves and filling orders ALL day and getting them in the mail. :-)

I learned so much that I had to "curb it" and remind myself to let my Sailor tell me news when he called rather than saying, "I know you did this and this and this!" It's so nice when they do talk and I didn't want to ruin it when he did!
