For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". I had a bunch of ribbons to finish for special division and had to have them shipped today. Also took my dad to a heart specialist for some problems he has been having the past week. He will be having a stress test with dye in a few days so keep him in your thoughts and prayers that the test come out good. I appreciate all of you so much.

Comment by Betsy, mom of Stennis sailor on January 17, 2012 at 7:27pm: Okie, my son also did his BS early in the week before PIR. He said they did "busy work" while waiting for everyone else to finish. Plus, they will also practice for their PIR at least one day.

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on January 17, 2012 at 4:00pm: My son went through BS the week before PIR. They have Captains Cup that Saturday...Sunday (Holiday time...woo-hoo!) He didn't say "exactly" what they were doing...but one extra thing they did was clean other compartments to get them ready for the new TG's.

Comment by diannep on January 17, 2012 at 8:38am: Correct, Okie. If she was 3-3 last Friday, she will be 3-4 today. Holidays are counted as weekends which means they don't count in the training day count.

Comment by Okie Cowgirl on January 16, 2012 at 10:25pm: With today being a holiday does that mean they did not progress to the next official day of training? Example, I think my daughter was on 3-3 or 3-5 last Friday. So tomorrow will be 3-4 instead of today?
