If you haven't seen the youtube video called the Women of the USS Reagan, you should watch it. It is a hoot, and it is neat to see the inside of the ship and how cohesive the group is.
Here is a pic of the Seabees helping with the forklift.
Here is a link to the Blog someone started on here for it. There is a link to a news article and a video.

Go Seabees!
Yep, Betsy/FTLW: They showed this giant "Green" machine that the SEABEES used to secure the car to the side of the bridge so they could get them out. I could see the back of some of the guys in uniform standing there. Wow....it was on ABC news, I think...maybe Good Morning America?
When I was talking to my daughter today, I asked her what she liked getting the most while in boot camp. Here are her top three picks. 1. Random pictures. (I enclosed them in every letter. Recent photos, ones from when they were growing up, and just random shots) She said she looked forward to seeing what I would send. 2. Letters. She said there is nothing worse than mail call and not getting mail. 3. News articles. I would print everything from celebrity new to college football recaps. They get no TV, so she liked finding out what was going on and would share them with her ship mates. She also got a kick out of the weekly cat newsletter I would send her. (Weekly newsletter from her cats)
Bottom line, anything from home is a huge help. It helped them feel like they are still part of what is going on.
That is awesome. they should have said it was navy Seabees to the rescue :-)
Wow, dianne. I saw that on the news, but they didn't say it was Navy Seabees. Hooyah, Navy! That was so scary! They showed them in the car hanging off the bridge.
Good Morning!
Here is an article on the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan (with pics):
This Aircraft Carrier is the World's Most Expensive Parking Lot
Yah Lala! Way to go!
Good morning all! It is chilly in S. FL today...felt great on my exercise 2 mile walk w/dogs when the sun was just rising. 50's is chilly for us S. Floridians so most bundle up. I'm hot-natured....so start out with a jacket...and usually shed it as I walk faster! :-)
Hey, way to go NAVY SEABEES! That would be the group that FTLW's son is in! In Calif, they came to the rescue with their equipment to help rescue a lady, her 10 yr old and 10 week old children, whose car had been rear-ended by a semi (which went over the bridge...sadly, driver died in the truck)...and was teetering over the side of the bridge (100 ft up)...car was so smashed, it was almost unrecognizable. Some may say that it was happenstance that the SEABEES were working in the area with their equipment. I say NO WAY....it was a GOD THING! All in the car are safe with minor injuries. Thank you, Lord!
lol Ruth and so true :-) I know all about that diet, I am a huge chocoholic but I have been very good and working hard and I have lost 10 pounds YAY!!
So happy for all of you getting calls! It is like a big chocolate hot fudge sunday when you are on a diet, only better.
