Yes, ladies.  Please don't start another group on here for this PIR group ....stay on this page and like Lala/FTLW said, it will be changed to: ALUMNI of....  Much easier to keep this same group so all can still come in and check on it!

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on February 15, 2012 at 12:40pm

Yes...after your PIR Okie or one of us admins will change the name of this group for you...we will add "ALUMNI OF..." to the Name. ;-)

Comment by MamaBear on February 15, 2012 at 11:56am

We will leave that name changing/group establishing to you raeinaz!  Ok, I'll help.

48 HOURS!  Down to hours now until we get to cry from our seats, beholding the beauty of our Sailors in all their pride honor and glory!  Be still my heart.  <3

Interesting list I found while looking for pictures of Boot Camp ribbons and awards...  Sickness was to be expected... WHO KNEW!

Most PIR groups just change the name of their group to Alumni PIR ...... Group :-) So you can still come to this page and talk about PIR and what you Sailors are doing. We still make comments on ours almost 2 yrs later :-)

Enjoy your new Sailors!!  I am so excited for you!!  I am still reliving last weekend.  This will be something you will carry with you for a long time!!

Definitely take a few sample shots before the ceremony begins to get your camera settings correct!

Also, there was a discussion on the PIR 2/10/12 group that someone brought signs and blocked the view.  Signs are not allowed.

I agree also that you should drive by the Base and get your bearings.  We did that and that helped tremendously.  You will be going in the Ohio Street Entrance.

A School is so much better than Boot Camp!!  My son is down in Florida and we talk almost every night - life is SO good!!

Can't wait to see all your pictures!!!  Enjoy and bring plenty of kleenex!!  Congratulations to you and your new Sailors!!

good morning everyone, TWO MORE DAYS Yay, I am so excited for all of you. Have a safe trip to PIR and enjoy the time with your Sailors. If you can, go to the meet and greet. It is a lot of fun to finally meet those you have grown so close to over the last couple of months. I know when it began you felt like this day would never come and now you are probably thinking omg where did the time go.

Remember when you get there it helps to check out the streets and route to the base so you are familiar with it especially if you are driving. The far right lane going to the base ends before you get there and you will have to merge left into traffic so it is best to avoid that lane. It may save you some wait time knowing this.

When you get to the PIR hall remember to check the setting on your camera and change them until you get the best pics for the lighting and environment you are in. This could include turning off your flash. Don't take pictures outside the PIR hall because they will either make you delete them or they can take your camera from you.

Have a wonderful time, I have really enjoyed getting to know you all.

and my post below should say you can take them in not stake them in lol.
