Awe Okie, we have all been there. I was taking water gym classes when my daughter was at boot camp and for the week of the 4th of July the instructor played all the military themed songs she could fine. After about 3 songs I was balling. Everyone in the pool was freaking out trying to figure out what was wrong although it took them a while to see I was crying because the splashing water hid my tears lol. And now approaching 2 years since she joined I still get emotional with these types of songs. Wait until you hear Lee Bryce's song "I drive your truck" omg it made me cry so much. hang in there we are here for ya :-)

I have been doing great- until this morning.  I need the radio to STOP playing the military "love you stuff".  Today it was a Kenny G Auld Lang Syne with all this historical voice over- things like "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country".  Good thing I am the only one in the office today, because my mascara is runny.

Good Morning!  Thanks for starting this group, Okie.  I'm another N4Moms veteran like FTLW and Lala, here to help.  I'm sure Betsy, Sandy and other N4Moms veterans will be along soon to help also.

Get ready for an emotionally-challenging but wonderful journey!

Hello!

FireTeamLeaderWife here!

My Sailor PIR’d on 05/26/2011.

I am a “veteran” mom on the PIR groups mostly. I will check in here once in a while to see if I can answer any questions and lend some support. There will be a few other veteran moms along to lend a hand and support you all through your PIR experience. diannep, LaLa Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons, Betsy, momofPensacolasailor, Sandy’s Sailor son, and possibly JessicaB Sailormom. We have a few others that help out when we have SPECOPS in the groups, sjtina to name one. Others drop in occasionally too…plus we are always looking for more to “join the ranks”. Things change in the military and we like to give out the most current info that we can so moms that have just gone through this help a lot.

I’ll also be loading up the discussion Forum area with lots of info to help you along during your PIR experience. Please feel free to add your own discussions and start your divisional discussions.

Welcome!
