mydojo:  I am so sorry.  Sadly, once they miss their own PIR because of a test failure, they will not have another PIR.  Your SR will stay in FIT and keep trying to pass.....once he does, he will do BattleStations---call you once he passes that--- and will have a brief Liberty time (if you live close enough to visit then, as there is no headsup about this until he is actually a sailor).....then flies straight to A School.  If he doesn't pass the float in the allotted chances, he will be discharged.  Prayers that he will pass soon!  I'm so sorry that he/you will miss him having a PIR but becoming a sailor is the important thing!  I will post a link to the FIT division in a second....that is a group you should now join to ask questions as there are some N4Moms veterans on there to help you, with others sharing their experiences.  Blessings to your "future" sailor!

I hope I am posting in the right place. My son did not pass his float part of his swim test. He was scheduled to PIR on February 6th, I learned from his recruiter that he was sent to ship 4. He hasn't written or called in 10 days or longer. I changed all my plans for the next PIR to February 27, 2015 because we had already rented a car and hotel room. Does anyone have a SR in this situation? If so, what is happening with them, when will I know if he passed his swim or do I just have to wait it out. You cannot imagine, I have had no sleep as to up until this point he was either writing or calling. I called recruit command but everything is scripted. Please help if anyone has info

Squints, I received a letter from my daughter in 916.  She is going to be an escort.  I think that is what they do if they are in a triple threat division but do not sing or play an instrument.  They will be seating people so maybe we will see them as soon as we arrive to PIR!!
