For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

hearthshaven: He is going to love that! Mail call is like Christmas morning for them! He may not be a letter writer, many aren't because of texting/email life, but you may be amazed at how many become letter writers when at Bootcamp! My son told me no letters, just calls when I can, but I got 5 letters from him while he was there, so keep the faith!

Get to send out our first letters today!!!! So excited! The kids all sat down and wrote letters last night as well. They're all in separate envelopes so his name will get called multiple times at mail call! Lol. I don't know how many letters he himself will actually write because he's not a big writer but I will cherish whatever we do get!
We're another day closer to PIR!!!!!!

Wow...RTC already has that posted on their website. It usually takes a little while. We'll get your GROUP heading updated shortly with that info.
This TG has two 900 Divisions. That is because of the Holiday Standown where there were no TG's (Training Groups) formed for two weeks. So, they will be Brother Divisions :-)

My Sailor PIR’d in 05/2011. He is a Seabee Reservist. I have been an AF (Security Forces) Reservist wife for 28 years…I know …not Navy…but I am familiar with military life! We have been through two Deployments. Now working on Retirement process from AF and soon from Civilian job. Our son enlisted while Hubby was in Iraq. This site was a Godsend and helped me get through not only our sons BC experience but my husbands and my separation for 6 months.
I am a “veteran” mom and volunteer on the PIR groups mostly.

Welcome to Navy for Moms!!
My Sailor Daughter's PIR was March 2013--can't believe how fast time has flown!. She is an IT3 (Information Systems Technician, Petty Officer Third Class). I primarily provide scriptural encouragement for the PIR groups, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and a few of the other groups that I am a member of. I'll also help out with anything that I am familiar with--all kinds of tidbits I learned during my daughter's Boot Camp experience~~ This site really made the time go much faster. I'm so thankful that my Sailor daughter sent me the link for this awesome group of friends when she enlisted!! Count 9 Fridays and before you know it, you'll be seeing your baby again at PIR!! Here we go!!!

TG 16 - 8 Divisions (095-100, and 915-916) Graduate Friday, February 27, 2015. Each recruit will be permitted 4 guests
I am so happy! Gotta quit crying and get some work done!
