N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Yet another Winter Storm for the SRs to endure!  Pretty much duplicating the weather up here (MN), just 1-2 days behind us. I'm sick of it, and I don't have to march in it!  Better than dealing with a heat index of 110° though!

You are very welcome, JetersMom!  We love helping!

Good Morning All!!!

I wantd to say thnak you to diannep, Lala, catmom509, ellen0502 and emptynerster77 for all of your support and helping all of us  new Navy Sister's through this process we could not do it without you. To all my Ship 13 Div 102 moms dont forget Tuesdays between 10:30 AM -11:30 AM on the facebook page U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command they post a trivia question the winner gets to see a pic of their division. So lets get out there and get that PICTURE :)

I agree with Lala's comment below!  We hate to miss questions you all have.  ellen has occasionally reposted the questions she finds in the discussions here on the PIR page....but we ask that YOU do that too!  Just so we don't miss something.  Your N4Moms veteran team is on about 6 PIR groups right now, which is actually lower than normal....only that low because there are 3 weeks between your PIR date and the next one, so normally we would be on about 8 groups at once.  Not much time to go through all of the discussions above!  So keep posting here!

Good Morning!

I hope more will find us and join this group and those that are busy in the discussions please remember we don't always have time to check the discussion pages for questions so please ask those here :) and come and keep us company sometimes as well :)

Got my first letter today! Unfortunately he had to cut it short, because he had 4-hour watch during the holiday hours, but a small letter is better than nothing!

Comment by Emptynester on January 30, 2014 at 7:36pm

Sorry, I've been hanging out with the Ship 09 Discussion Forum.  There don't seem to be too many of us.  I've asked my son to mention it to his fellow SR's so hopefully we'll get a few more to join!

Comment by diannep on January 30, 2014 at 6:41pm

Well, it seems, ellen, that you, Lala, CatMom and I will have to just "talk amongst ourselves"  here on this group.  Sigh....come back, ladies!  We miss all of you!  :-)

Comment by ellen0502 on January 30, 2014 at 5:37pm

I'm here just been busy with some sailor stuff for my son. Nothing is easy when you are 4000 miles apart. LOL

Sound off ladies are you still here?
