~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

annebelle, you can send as many letters as you want. If you do decide to send a card, please make sure that it is not musical, has no glitter and don't send any colored envelopes, etc. You don't want draw any unwanted attention to your SR. Cards are perfectly fine to send, as long as they are in a white envelope with none of the above. Sending a calling card is a great idea and I would send one with at least 300 to 500 minutes on them. The phones at RTC use up a lot of minutes just to have the call connect.
I just bought a cell phone arm band on Ebay. So when it arrives I can start my walking again. I only talked to my son for 1 minute as he was being timed. I hate that he is sick. I asked him about the swimming. It's like, Dah Mom, I passed. LOL I knew that. I am curious about what we can send him? His friend bought him a card, I didn't even think of it. Knowing my son, he is allowing others to use his.
Hi got a call from my SR today, got his form letter yesterday.. He is ship 03 div 110... I'm excited that I got to talk to him today....
annebelle, yes, some calls are used as rewards, but then others may need to call for additional information for their security clearances as well. Unfortunately having a missed call does happen and to most of us, but don't worry another call will come. You just never know when the next one will be, so it's always a good plan to keep those phones with you at all times!
They say that phone calls are like rewards, is that true? My son called twice. I missed his first call. After that, I keep the cell on me at all times. Stephanie, I hope you get your call soon!
12F :-( My son called Friday and said it was cold and he was also sick with a cold. Ah, but training goes on. I send him a warm blanket of love.
Stephanie, they will, trust us! You will be so surprised at how fast the time will fly. Write those letters and keep real busy. It will be Feb. pretty soon. Just think of the weeks going by, as how many Fridays, then how many wake ups, til you see him again.
KylesMom: There is a mistake in the form letters since according to the RTC page, all divisions within a PIR group will have the same number of guests.
Now I have to ask....is there anyone in this PIR group who had an SR leave out of Milwaukee Jan 9th? I know there was 1 male and 3 females that left with my SR and I am curious if I already met your kids!
