OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good Morning All!    This group has already grown to 25 people !  That is great!  Once the divisions for this group are posted by RTC, there should be many more who will join.

Hope all have a great weekend!

Be sure to look at the info that FTLW has posted above and to the right, under the PAGES section under the MEMBERS photo box.  Lots of good info in there!

I will be happy to find out for sure what is up with the number of guests.  My husband asked if it is possible that because there are both 916 and 917 that the number was lower for us?  I have no idea how this works, but my SR wrote on our form in pencil, and the number "3" written in black sharpie is not his writing, so someone crossed it out and drew a black line through the line for the 4th guest...I am just puzzled

Ok Kids...I had date night with my hubby...we went and saw Restless Heart....I really really want you all to share the same moment I felt when they recognized all the Military families at their show tonight, and everyone was just clapping...I realized...I am one of them now, and so are ALL of you...I know you were not there with me, so I am bringing it home for you to hear...God Bless All of You...enjoy

proudmom-remember no news is good news!  It sounds like extra communication other than the "i'm here" call it has been to fix an issue that was raised during p-days.  And they have only had 1 Sunday-and it wasn't a normal Sunday for them.  Think positive for your SR!  I know mine isn't happy-no iphone, no tv, no xbox-but is learning and growing and becoming a sailor. And be the proudmom you are!

my SR is div 107.  No names crossed off his list of guests for PIR

Comment by diannep on January 18, 2013 at 11:27pm

teachermom:  I would be checking flights now so you don't miss any "specials" going on.  The problem is....an SR can be asmoed (setback) at any point in bootcamp (most are not)...so waiting to make flight arrangements doesn't matter too much.  However, I would try to go with Southwest if that is available to your area because of the no change fee policy they have...and the 2 free checked bags!    They have some pretty good specials too!

My apologies.. he is Ship 02 DIV 916

Comment by ProudMom on January 18, 2013 at 10:42pm

Hi everyone! My son shipped out 01/08/13. Has anyone received a phone call. I got the form letter but no letter from him personally. I am worried he isn' t happy.
