~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Here is a "peek" at graduation.  This video was done by a mom who does this as a business.  Kleenex handy!

Enjoy!

leigh:  Recruit Training Command Facebook posts random photos of the divisions every now and then.  No guarantees but you can check there.  And, no, there are no videos of them that you can see.  Not all of them are done yet...most divisions are doing BattleStations next week.  Only 4 divisions have completed them so far.

I have added a Carpooling from the Airports discussion above for those looking to share cabs/shuttles with Sarge, or in rental cars.

leigh:  They usually choose the "shorter ones" to carry the flags since they are in the front of the division during PIR.  That is not the only criteria, and it doesn't mean that all are short.  It is nice because being in front of the division, you can see them well!

Here is the info on the sharp shooter ribbons:

http://www.navydep.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2267

No assigned seating at PIR, but there are division sections and reserved seating for those with Honor Recruits.

Beachlover & Power0806,

The coins are coming from Denver, Colorado and I live in California.  Craig was able to ship it on Monday and I did receive it on Wednesday.  He thought it was a fluke though.  I just took it as another confirmation from the Lord that my Sailor daughter's path on this Navy journey is blessed by our God!!

If you purchase on Saturday in time for him to ship out on that day, it might make it, depending on your proximity to Colorado, but I'd say it's safer that you just have it sent to the hotel.  It is shipped USPS First Class.  The coin is about 2" in diameter and comes with a card describing the history of that ship.  You could cu tit down to fit inside the lid of the small gift box.

Power0806,

Just saw your post.  Have Craig ship it to your hotel.  Glad you can get this special coin for your new Sailor!!

Beachlover,

Craig said that he could ship the Challenge Coin to the hotel you are staying at.  Just give him your name, the hotel name and address, then let the hotel know to expect a package in your name!  It will be in a small bubble envelope.
