~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Liberty - I just checked my SR NFCU account also since reading you post and she also has charges out to both the MWR special events and the NEX for quite large amounts. Hope it is for pictures or something memorable!

Diannep - Would all 4 of the division be calling today or would possible some of us still be waiting another day or so to get calls? I am so nervous now.

Good Morning!

Ok, so....who will be calling after 2pm Central today?  We think 121/122 will be calling, but then....will it be 811 and 920?  Time will tell!  Keep those phones close!  New sailors will be calling!  :-)

Liberty:  I believe the 2nd charge probably is for pictures.  Hmmm....not sure about the Special Events charge.  Maybe CatMom or ellen know about that charge?

And, yes, they do deduct from their first couple of paychecks for their supplies/uniforms and then they should get full paychecks.  Here is the 2014 paychart:

We plan on going to the meet and greet also...as long as our plan is on time and we find our way from the airport..lol

I have not received a "I'm a Sailor" call yet);

Hi- I asked my son to be sure and purchase the large photo package and that I would pay him back. I see that on his checking account there are two debits from 3/24. One says $113.00 "Special Events" and one says "Navy Exchange Serv com Great Lakes $209.00...any ideas about these charges? I can't remember how much the photo package was supposed to be..Thanks! i want to go ahead and reimburse for the photos since he sure isn't making much money! Also- speaking of that...They have taken money out of these first two checks for uniforms, right? Will he start to make more now? How much is an E-1 supposed to make?

CatMom509 - Thanks for your post!  Wish we were flying, but we are driving out. So I will make sure the cell phone volume is up! Phone rang tonight and it was just one of those telemarketer calls.  It was funny because we all ran for the phone just in case!
