N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Captains Cup this morning! Fun for them. It is possible that some may get to call home this afternoon....if so, ask who won.  There are at least 2 winners....all-male division and integrated (male/female) division....but there is a motivational award too which can either be won by one of these winners....or by a third division.

RTC will post results next week.

Here is the Captains Cup info again:

Good Morning!

I received the PIR ribbon I ordered from Unique Memory Makers today. The ribbon is wonderful. I also received a call from my daughter telling me she is a Sailor. I am very thankful for the Lord's blessings today. Congratulations to every new Sailor today!

CourtRenee,

Not sure if anyone else saw your question about what they brought their Sailors for A school, but I brought my daughter her cell phone, cell phone charger, her own comfortable underwear, and some specific shirts and exercise leggings she asked for. They can't bring tthese items back with them to the RTC.  We brought these items to the airport and stuck them into her black backpack.  Her seabag and garment bag were checked through to her flight.  If he has a laptop and ac adapter that he wants, that can fit in the backpack too.  The backpack is his carry on. Also, for the hotel, don't forget to bring him a comfortable set of clothes to hang around in your hotel room.  He has to wear his dress uniform everywhere else.

Daphne:  Interesting.  Hoping that means that they are re-assessing her and will allow her to continue?  I know it is hard going into the weekend and not knowing what is going on.  Would be good if they let her call home this weekend....we hope!  Keep us posted!

I am sure that is possible Daphne, I hope they have found that she is going to be okay and will be able to finish. I wish I had more info to give you. Hopefully you will hear something from her soon. Please let us know as soon as you hear anything.

I'm so confused. I hope you ladies can help me. As you know, I received a call from my daughter last night. She was crying and hard to understand, but said she was being sent home. That she wasn't able to complete battlestations or start them. (She was crying so I hard, I don't know what she said) When I called rtc today, I was told by Mr. Senko that she wasn't scheduled for asmo and wasn't on ship 5, but was in ship 4 and has been in medical all day today. He left word for her to meet with him and said he would conference her in. Even he is confused at what's going on. Is it possible that she panicked and assumed she was being sent home? Maybe she called to say that her pir date had changed? Is she on medical hold or fit? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. I'm sorry if I've put too much info in this comment, but I'm very worried about my child and didn't know where else to turn.
