~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

We also went to Sarg's M/G and fortunately, got there early...I really liked how the tables were divided up by Division! Made some great connections...
Shuttle Service: Sarge (John) picked us up himself at midnight on Wed eve at Union Station. We had our own ride to PIR. I had a lot of info from N4M's about everything, but I still learned things at the M/G. Plenty of food, Nice Place the Saloon. We had a delay in getting picked up after due to similar communication problems as below, but Dave took us back when the other driver was MIA. So all in all it was good.
A little confusion about the NEX card at the Navy Lodge, as it is ONLY good at the MINI-NEX quick stop; But we received maps, schedules and more info than folks at other Hotels.
WE WILL MISS YOU DIANNE! THANK YOU
luvcrhm: So sorry you had that experienc---that's awful! I hope you weren't late to PIR???
Thanks, Ladies, for sharing your experiences on here. I am leaving this group now....blessings to all of your sailors in their next adventure!
I guess I'm the only one that had an issue with Sarge's shuttle service. I signed up at the meet & greet. I watched David write my cell number on their sheet (they didn't have a sign up sheet for my hotel). So in the morning I'm waiting for my text stating the color of shuttle & drivers name. Never received a text. After waiting I decided to call Sarge (i got his voicemail) and never received a call back. Then at 9:15 I receive a text with an apology from David stating he had wrong number for me and that his driver picked up the wrong people. You would think driver would have my name since it was on the list. Needless to say we got our own ride and decided not to use Sarge's shuttle on the way back either. So, Thank goodness I had a back up and the graduation wasn't crowded.....we got good seats.
I can't say enough good about Sarge, neither can my Sailor. He is caring, devoted and inspirational. The information he gives is great, and it is mind boggling that he does this week after week with such enthusiasm and devotion. He truly has restored my faith in the human spirit and is an amazing role model for all those just graduating. I only wish those kids who didn't meet him could hear some of his words of wisdom he shares with the new kids. Thank you for making this an amazing journey, Sarge!
Thanks so much, ladies. We have always heard that Sarge's has great info!
Did anyone attend the Flanagans MeetandGreet or Ramada's?
Sarge's M&G was fantastic. I recommed getting there early (I didn't), so you have time to visit with all the Navy families before the buffet line and presentation starts. There is A LOT of information. Sarge is very helpful and it's awesome that he does this. Although the M&G is free, please bring a donation for the box so Sarge can continue doing this for future PIR groups as long as possible.
I also went to Sarge's and met some really great Moms and Dads. We had to cut our stay a little short because we had a toddler that was about to lose it. Wish some of the presentation was earlier because I hated to leave and miss so much of it. What we did get to hear was good information and we wrote down a few things that came in handy later on. Would definitely recommend going to Sarge's. I can't vouch for the others since I did not go.
