OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

MartiB:  Yes, that is kind of the way it works.  They filled up last and have less days to get it all done, but they DO get it done!

klisej64:  Hoping that your SR is feeling better and back to training again soon!

Congrats on all of the calls today!

Where do I find pictures of ship 14 division 131/132 on facebook?

Please explain "Push" division.  Do they just double up on their learning to get ahead so they graduate on time or how does that work?

Comment by MartiB_TX on February 16, 2013 at 8:04pm

I got a call today too from my daughter.  She sounded good.  She said that since they had P days for so long that they were now a "push" div.  She said it was really cold there today (she is from TX so not used to temperatures below 40s for the most part).  She said that Monday for her division is week 1 day 5 and that they will always start their new week on Tuesday.  Several people have been sent home from her division for various reasons but they also picked up some new ones as well so I think she said they currently have 85 in their division.  She has passed her swim test, her DEPS test and I think one other test.   They are all studying really hard for a test on Monday - it is one that many people have to repeat so she was a little concerned about that.  Dtr told me that all of Div 131 & 132 were all going to get to call.  It was funny, I saw the 847 area code on my caller id and nearly tackled the phone.  My husband wasn't answering because he didn't recognize the phone number and thought it was one of those pesky phone calls.  So excited to have heard from her.

I got a call from my son. He sounded down and said he was sick also. I am worried about him. He isn't able to do PT with the group since he collasped. Hoping the doctor releases him this week. If not it will be th 26th before he is released. So afraid he will give up. I tried to give him a pep talk but his time was up

Gatorfan - Hmmmm...I have not heard of a "Pearl Harbor" as far as an "training exercise" of some kind. The only Pearl Harbor I know of is the Recruit In-Processing Barracks (The temp barracks where they stay) Ship 1.

So, guess we'll have to see if anyone else mentions it or please go ahead and write and see if he can explain.

Glad for calls!

Thanks for the Heads UP! I just let my son's GF know, as I already got to talk with him during the "business" call for background checks. Besides, he 'hates" to talk on the phone! So she'll get more out of the time than I will!! AHHHH young love. So refreshing...BTW she is already a SR. She coached him in preparation for BC.So, I felt so much better about his going, no surprises!
