for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Morning!
Goat, another idea would be to take the dress/heels with you in a bag (it will be searched but its ok).....and change in the restrooms in PIR Hall. That won't solve the problem that CatMom mentioned of going up and down metal bleachers it in---but your walking to the Hall would be more comfortable, but if you really want to wear a dress/heels, that would be my suggestion. I would change back into your comfortable walking shoes before leaving PIR Hall though!
Tessal,
Yes, there is a handicapped area. If you pull into the parking garage and let them know you need handicapped assistance, they will direct you where to park, a nice Sailor will come with a wheelchair or if you brought yours, he will push your wheelchair to a seating area in graduation hall. After PIR, he will come back to take you back to the garage~~
Goat,
You will be going up and down metal bleachers, plus if you are going from the graduation hall to the NEX, it's a walk. You might want to stop by your hotel after PIR to change to something dressier (with your heels) to go to a nice restaurant. I would rather be warm and comfortable--but still dressed nice--at PIR. I wore a fancy sweater with nice jeans and comfortable leather shoes and my plush black heavy coat and scarf!! My Sailor daughter's PIR was in March 2013 and I'm from Southern California!
All booked up 2 weeks from tomorrow can't wait to see my SR letters are not enough nor are the calls. Can't wait to meet everyone at the PIR. 14/132. Safe Travel to all.
