Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

136 is most likely a Push Division.

Comment by Goat on February 20, 2015 at 10:25pm: @mickis mom, My SR got there 2/5 and is graduating 4/3 but there were several people arriving the day before that graduate 3/27 so it sounds right to me. I believe our PIR starts with div 129 and goes up. If that's what the form says, that's when it'll be! You could also search "push division" and read about that

Comment by Micki's mom on February 20, 2015 at 9:53pm: am getting nervous..my form letter says my SR is graduating 4/3 but she just got there 2/9. is that right?? that's less than 8 weeks. she's with ship #11 DIV 136. anyone else in that group to confirm this PIR date of 4/3 for DIV 136? #confused. hard time dealing with this silence so i really hope this date is right!!

He said they were promised a call for Valentine's day but had to do extra PT instead because some guy "can't get any simple task right" so hopefully they can call soon. (That's ship 12, DIV 133 btw). It was so nice to hear from him

He talked about the graffiti in the bathroom, the food is not too bad, he finally feels like he can get through this, and He loves and misses us. He ended the letter with "I'll keep doing my best here, too!"

He also said calls are made on Saturdays and Sunday is for writing letters.
Man... I love that kid!!!!

Comment by diannep on February 20, 2015 at 1:14pm: Just a point of interest.....the "ship" is their barracks and houses 12+ divisions. They train with a brother division, which would be in the same ship as they are. However, not all divisions in a PIR group will be in the same ship.
