~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Well RTC's webpage is kind of updated... I keep checking it to get my parking pass. They have updated it to where our Training Group is 2nd on the list but they dont have the link yet to get the parking pass!! Come on! I was on RTC's webpage right at 11 days to go and of course they didnt update that quickly. Should've known!
About Divisional T-Shirts-You can still order them. I emailed last night and called this morning and had a response before noon. They will email you an order form and you just fax it to them and it takes about 6 weeks to get your order. Hope this helps
MamaKrayKray,
I agree with proudmomma, that if your husband insists on driving both sons, that he take the 16 yr old to the airport earlier and depending on his maturity and your trust level, he would be okay to board himself?
Yes, you can have Sarge take your new Sailor back to RTC. He would charge $15 if he is the only one and less if there are other Sailors that need to go back at the same time, so keep your eyes peeled for other Navy families in your hotel and try to coordinate with them. Trade cell nos. Your Sailor would need to be leaving to get back 1 hr before he is due back. Check out my "Pertinent PIR Tips" up in the Discussion section as I have more detail on what he charges and meeting your Sailor at the airport, etc...
Top of the Morning!!
"Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and courageous.
Do not be discouraged,
for the Lord your God will be
with you wherever you go."
Joshua 1:9
That is an option as well . . . just didn't want to spend quality family time driving in the car but take what you can get I guess. That's part of this crazy life, be flexible & make the most of it anyway you can : )
mamakray- I would send the 16 yo to the airport early and take your SR with you this way you all get more time together. :)
Good morning! Lala busy weekend here as well . . . soccer, track meet & our ever present farm work. Negotiations with the 16 year old re: prom attendance have been completed & an agreement has been reached! He will pay for a flight home for himself on Friday evening. My wonderful brother-in-law & sister-in-law have agreed to assume responsibility for him. Still not liking the whole thing. But since our SR will probably be leaving for A school Saturday morning, he will get to spend the bulk of Friday with him after PIR. And we won't have to ask (beg) people to help out with the farm chores more than a day or two. He will be home to handle those matters as well. So I guess it will be win/win. Just more for me to worry about & organize. My husband will be driving our 16 year old to the airport & that is probably about the time when our SR will need to return to base. Would I be able to arrange a taxi with Sarge to get him back to base on time? My husband wants to try to do both. Take our SR back early & then head to the airport. But I'm holding out for as much time with my SR as possible. Not sending him back until I have to.
OOOPS.....Thanks for the correction, Jacob'smom, on Poseiden's numbers. Serves me right for looking up numbers when I should have been in bed! :-)
The number for the Division Flags shirts (Poseidon Sportswear) is 972-347-6655, the fax machine is 972-347-6658
Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend. It was crazy busy here and a little too cold for Spring. We had frost the last 3 days :( Like all of you I am counting down the days until my Sailor comes home for a visit. So excited to see her :-D I hope you all have a great week!
