Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Anyone have any idea about BS for 03/175? I got my last letter fro my SR yesterday. He sounded very determined. I am praying for him and all the other SRs.

It's was enough to put this mama's mind at ease. Tjskip, what division is your son? Prayers he is still able to pass and graduate with the rest.

Comment by diannep on April 30, 2015 at 11:34pm: tjskip: I sure hope you all didn't do that! Because he still has about 2-3 more chances to pass! He will have until Wed to pass and then he will do BattleStations with the next PIR group, probably the night before PIR. He would be at PIR, but tired, however in uniform! I don't know why the RDCs tell them to have you all cancel.....they should be telling you that there is a chance he won't graduate, but he still has tries. Possibly tomorrow (Fri), and Mon and Wed if he needs them.

Please don't cancel reservations yet! Lots of prayers that you will have a sailor next week! This happens in every PIR group (I have been on here for over 5 yrs and see it happen all of the time) and most of the SRs DO pass before PIR. Please keep us posted on his progress!

He asked her to tell us to cancel all of our reservations because he did not pass the physical fitness part. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this group. You all have been a wonderful support system.
