N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Awww, that's so sweet to hear of your SRs supporting one another in their times of need~~

Prayers for God's comfort in the loss of your brother-in-law, BrownEyedMomma....

Comment by MamaBear on April 17, 2015 at 1:56am
BrownEyeMomma, my SR also mentioned this loss in her letter that I received today, she mentioned that they all cuddled around her to pray over her. I guess my SR knows your SR. She asked that we please continue writing to them and if possible an encouraging note to those who don't receive any mail. To continue sending Bible verses and lyrics to songs. I know it's only 3 more weeks but I feel like expecting a baby to be delivered. Dear Lord Jesus, we ask that you please continue protecting our children during this period of their lives, we ask for comfort to these families who have lost a dear family member and give them your peace, we ask you this in His precious Name, Amen.

BrownEyedMomma:  So very sorry for the loss of your brother in law.  The fact that your SR was able to help this other shipmate get through a tragedy from her own experience is so wonderful....the "good" that comes from us going through hard times....to help others.  What a blessing she must have been to that other SR!  God Bless Her!

Thanks ladies. I have not heard much from my kiddo, it helps me to know where they are in training this week.  Browneyedmama, my son is 03/176 also, so keep me posted. Your daughter sounds like a sweetheart to be a support for her friend!   I know that warms your heart!

Only 3 weeks to go.... :)

Week 4 is hell week. DIV 173/74 started hell week on Tuesday, so today will be day 4-3 for them. They do the gas chamber in week 5 and battle stations at the end of week 6. All the divisions are close, but on different sechedules. It depends on how many p-days they had when they first go there.

My SR mentioned that she helped a shipmate this week deal with a tragedy.  We just dealt with one too.  I didn't post it originally because it didn't seem right and while I know this mom might not be on the site right now cause she's dealing with a lot, I want her to know that I understand.  My sister's family and mine have lived together for the last 7 years and 5 of those my brother-in-law was fighting cancer.  He lost that battle while my daughter was in boot camp.  It was hard but we were anticipating the loss.  This shipmate of my SR had gone to boot camp with her loved one in remission so it really came as a shock.  If you're on this site, know that my daughter helped to console her.  You and your family are in my prayers.

Well I can tell you that Ship 3 Div 176 is doing weapons training this Friday.  Today is the second day of week 4 for them.  I got to talk to my SR yesterday and this is what she told me.  Hell week for her started yesterday, with a 4am wake up call and PFT before they even ate breakfast.

Gals,

The day-to-day training schedule is just a guideline and the different divisions will be a little ahead or a little behind others, but all will finish in time to complete Battlestations together~~
