Spoke to my son yesterday (Div 926).  he said he should receive his orders (time, airline, airport, etc... going to A school),  on Wed. and will be able to make a call... hopefully he is able to.  if we do start getting that info, i think we should keep it quiet.... never know who is reading the public stuff....

Navy-Girlfriend: My son had his "I'm a sailor call" on the Friday before his PIR, just like your new sailor. Before he hung up, he said "I'll probably be able to give you another call before graduation," and then for whatever reason, he wasn't able to. So maybe he will, but ...

This will be an exciting week for everyone!

I was just there last week for PIR, so if you have any questions for me, I'd be happy to try and answer them.

So waiting for the call was harder than the aniticipation of the eve of BS.  I didn't tell anyone esp. my family that I was so nervous, I had a stomach ache!  My call didn't come until 3:50 CST!  Hang in there and don't clock watch, yea right! :>))

Hope to see you all at the Meet and Greet Thurs. eve.

Welcome, Cat M!  HOOYAH for your SR passing his PFA and getting BattleStations done.  My heart goes out to all of those who had to push that extra mile to get it done!

jdmom:  The capping ceremony is a VERY emotional time for the new sailors...as you can imagine.  Lots of smiles, lots of "relieved" tears.  How proud they are...and should be!
