DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Well our Sailors are now scattered all over the place.  It is nice to be in the same state as our Nuke Sailor and only about two hours away.  He even had some liberty yesterday and had time with his GF too who is living about half hour away.  Next is a few days of indoc. and classes to begin in June,  I think.  Let me know if your new Sailor is there also.

You are very welcome, DepthCharge4! We N4Moms veterans love helping on here! And I totally agree with what you said below about Go. ! Funny how he places people in our paths at times, just when we need them!

KAM MOM, I echo your thoughts on trusting God's sovereignty in all situations. At one point I started to doubt and panic when I read others' comments about the PACT program my daughter chose while waiting to strike an HM rate. After surrendering again, God led me to others that greatly encouraged this mother's heart. He IS good and always does what is best for His children. CatMom509, thank you for encouraging us every morning with Scripture; I hope to visit more frequently on the Christian Moms page. Diannep, thank you for faithfully checking in each day and getting us started right. I appreciate all your encouragement and advice along the way! Fair winds and following seas to all!
