For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Karen,
With such a short time, I would say go out to get something to eat, then just hang out in your hotel room (book a room for just that day) with your SR so he can share his Boot Camp adventures with you. Bring some comfy clothes for him to relax in as he will probably want to take nice long private shower. If you can't meet him at the airport when he flies out to A school, you will either have to ship his cell phone/cell phone charger/laptop/ac adapter to him OR another Navy mom can bring these items for your SR if she is seeing her own SR off at the same airport as your son.
For Sailors flying out, liberty time is from 10:30 am - 7:00 pm or so~~
For Sailors having A school at Great Lakes, liberty is Friday (4:00 pm - 10:00 pm); Saturday & Sunday all day both days.

Great question Karen. My son seems to think he'll have only 2 or 3 hours. But from what I've read is he should have liberty after PIR til around 7PM. Our original plan was to take him to see Godzilla (it is released the same day). :-) But that was before he left. So it is likely his priorities are different. Also, he did mention he would like some BBQ.
So if we get an idea of how much time we will have together that would be helpful in planning.

I got letter #2 yesterday. He said he has met a bunch of great guys. Everyone is so motivated. He is glad to be in this division 812 and can't wait to graduate BC to move on to prep school with them. He said letters are pretty great....so keep them coming.

Abila my nephew is in the same DIV. No call either. He told my brother maybe the 15th. Have you received a letter yet? He told my brother he has written but no one has received one as if today.
