OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

HELLO everyone:  Good morning.  Praying today is letter day. I love letter day.  I wanted to express my thanks to all of you especially catmom and diannep for helping with so much.  I went on to the rules and ended up changing my user name again so sorry if I am confusing anyone.  I can't wait to meet many of you.

Jenny, and any of the other moms who haven't had a chance to read it, I posted "Pertinent PIR Tips" up above in the Discussion Forum with my tips from my daughter's PIR of March 8th.  Hope some of it helps you ladies!!

I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you wonderful women out there that have taken the time to post all this wonderful information!! I've been reading all the comments  and I have experienced so much of the same.  I have laughed at your comments and I have cried because they hit so close to home.  My daughter is on Ship 12 Div 190.  I believe it is the only all girl division.  She is my only child and I really really miss her.  I haven't heard from her by phone since April 10th and have received a letter.  I do much better when I hear from her and then time goes by and I just need to hear from her.  I know she is ok and I know she is strong but as only moms understand its just hard.  My husband keeps telling me "it will be ok"....duh!! If he tells me that one more time I might choke him lol (j/k).  Anyway, once again....THANK YOU!!

Jenny:  Hell week is training week 4.  This PIR group should be done with it...in fact...some divisions are almost done with week 5!  Hell Week means they are up earlier, have lots of inspections, and are very busy!

They do BattleStations at the completion of training week 6, so they are happening soon for this group.  We cannot post dates on this site....if you hear one from your SR, you can private message it though.

Comment by Proudmama on May 1, 2013 at 1:37pm

Thanks CatMom509:  I will definitely share it.  I know "Hell" week is over soon but not sure what "Hell" week is.  Anyone know?  Also do you know when "Battlestations" will be?

Friends,

This scripture is so appropriate for the Battlestations that your SRs will be going through soon.  Perhaps you can share with your SR in a letter now.

             "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name;

              you are mine.  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

              and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.

              When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames

              will not set you ablaze.  For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One

              of Israel, your Savior..."

                                                                                     Isaiah 43:1b-3a

Jenny, since you are a little later coming to the group, just wanted to add that Sarge (see post below) also has a shuttle service from/to the airports and also to/from PIR and around town in GL if you need it!

Here is the link to RSVP for Sarge's MeetandGreet.  I highly recommend you all go if you can!  Good food and lots of info!
