PIR was amazing!!! It was so thrilling to see all of our Sailors march into the drill hall and filled this momma's heart with so much pride! One of the best days ever! Now we are enjoying just hanging out with our Sailor and hearing all about his wild adventures, lol! And who would have thought watching someone fold a T-shirt could be so entertaining? I'm on cloud nine and enjoying this wonderful day. Hope everyone is having a good day as well!
Sooo....how was it, ladies?????
I have a Mission Impossible for you Folks on this PIR group...our wonderful Retired Navy Member on here...Craig... needs some info. He runs the NavyDEP.com site and puts out some great help.
Your Mission...should you choose to accept it is:
He needs to know the Identification of the two Buildings in the Rectangle with the arrow pointing to them. The numbers are 1313 and 1314. Please make sure to note the names with the numbers...which one is in front and which is in back.
You can right click on the Photo and Save it in your Computer.
BTW...the area on the Photo that says "Parking Lot Graduation" is incorrect. This is the Chapel Parking Lot and is across the compound from the Drill Hall (see the Bottom of the PIC) To the Drill Halls left you will see the Visitors Center in Green...to it's left will be the Parking Garage for PIR. The Red Dot at Gate 8 is where you enter off of OHIO for PIR.
This message will self destruct in five seconds...
J/K...I'm also going to make this a Discussion for those that post a response. Thank you!
Congratulations again! Hope you are having a wonderful Liberty with your Sailors!
Hope some of you are now on your way into the PIR hall! Have a wonderful day today! ENJOY!
We are here and drove from MN and have decided to talk the shuttle in place of driving on base.. We will drive to pick him up after he moves to the other side of the street as he will be staying in GL to train after PIR...
Good morning all. Safe travel for those traveling to PIR today. Enjoy the MeetNGreets tonight! And...be early tomorrow! In my experience with my son's PIR, I was very grateful that we left on the 6:30 shuttle and were in the PIR hall by a few minutes after 7. The ceremony didn't start until 9, but there was pre-ceremony activity and we were able to pick our seats (although there were people there already). No need to get caught in traffic.
For those driving, a hint we have heard is to bypass RTC on Buckley road...then u-turn and turn into RTC from the opposite direction. Several in previous PIR groups have told us this saved them tons of time. If you are on the shuttle, no worries. They bypass the car line.
@diannep.. Thanks again for your information and support. I too encourage all to visit this web page and continue to tell your story for us all to learn from. Thanks again!
