mmorales: chin up, mom. I'm sure this is all still very scarey for our recruits and as several have stated they are having scare tactics used to get them all on the same page and to also take all of this very seriously. I was shocked that they are being trained by a SEAL ( and it may be to a degree a bit tougher on them ) but thinking about it later, this also made me very proud. Ours are being trained by someone with extremely high morale and standards with will make our very special SR's dedicated and ready to tackle other life goals...so HooYah! Remember as well, the RDC's are highly competitive so not only is it their job to try and ensure that our recruits reach the finish line, they also have as much pride and faith in them as we do :) They want to see their division achieve greatness just as much as we do :) You'll hear from him soon, have confidence in that. Try to relax and enjoy your weekend and remember our recruits are changing daily for the better and all change is stepping out of the comfort zone to embrace the unknown.
Good Morning All! Have a good day!
navywife: I agree with Lala...they do not set whole divisions back, but threaten to. They will "weed out" those who just won't conform, but most do conform. This is a very common threat...we see it on every PIR board. It is a way to get them all on "the same page" and by about training week 4, that is the case. They are working much better then as a team. You'll see the difference in their letters and phone calls...much more positive and encouraging then.
Sorry I have not been on much the last couple of days. I have had a lot to get done and haven't I been feeling well. Went to the doc today and came home with meds for a sinus and ear infection. So hopefully will be back to good ole me in a couple if days. This cough is horrible...Gotta get better so I can go see my Sailor :-)
It is so good to see so many getting letters :-D
Awe navywife I am so sorry he is being so "honest" with you. I am sure he just needs somewhere to vent and you are it. I am sure he knows he can trust you with all of his feelings and concerns. Please let him know that we all are proud of him for hanging in there and not to worry. It will get better and they never really set a whole division back but they sure do make them think they will. I hope you next letter is much better. just keep sending the encouraging letters and I am sure he will be doing a lot better very soon. You both are in my thoughts and prayers <3
I check the mailbox as soon as I pull up to the house, I don't even pull into the driveway but right up to the mailbox and today IT CAME!!! I know you can't tell much from a letter but he sure sounded good! Said he was having fun but it got serious!! I sat right in the car and opened and read it and read it again. Then called my boyfriend and read it to him. My SR's sister came over and she had gotten a letter to. So proud of him!!
Sorry I have been MIA…just lots to do lately! Been reading though and trying to catch up!
I am so happy for you moms that have received letters! I hurried home to see if I got a letter today, but unfortunately nothing today! Oh well, I guess it'll come when it comes and no news is good news! At least I got to see a picture of him yesterday!
Thanks diannep. I know it will get here sooner or later. He arrived in GL March 21st. I will just have to wait a little more patiently!
